The apologising policeman

with one comment

Whilst out riding my bike, I’ve had a few people do silly or dangerous things, but the other day something unusual happened.

I was driving back home from work and pulled up at a roundabout. There was a car approaching, so I waited until it had passed and then pulled onto the roundabout to go straight on. I came around the back of the car infront, which was pulling off after the exit that I got on at and went around the roundabout to find a police car just pulling out infront of me. I was paying good attention to what was going on, so I spotted him long before he spotted me.

I pulled further in to the roundabout to move away from any potential impact and the policeman spotted me and stomped on his brakes. So I carried on, leaving at my normal exit. As I drove down the road, the police car was following me with his blues and twos on so I pulled over and stopped my engine.

Fortunately, all the policeman wanted was to apologise for giving me a surprise! Still, it was nice to have some one apologise for their mistake. I suppose it helps when you have flashing blue lights and a siren to apologise with.
