Yarr, sleeping be good
I think my new sleeping policy is to get to bed by 10 o’clock when I can. I guess my body needs a fairly “standard” amount of sleep every night – so far I think around 8 and a half hours. If I go to bed at 10pm I seem to wake up at 6:30am. If I go to bed at midnight, my body wants to wake up at 8:30am

Sleeping be a waste of time.
I decided the opposite. I decided to try to train myself to need less sleep. That way I have more time in the evenings, to do my own things, or even do more work.
This was partly inspired by a guy I met once, and also another guy on some CNN business analysis interview, both of whome are very successful people who claim to work late every night to the point of insomnia, while everyone else wastes their time sleeping.
I’m having limited success with this. Mostly it just makes me late for work.

Conclusion
… staying up doesn’t seem to work!
I reckon my body needs 8 and a half hours – I seem to wake up by magic that amount of time after I go to sleep.
Asleep at ten, awake by six-thirty. It’s magic.
and it means I don’t have to rush my cereal

Agreement
I agree 8.5 hours seems about right!
I tend to nod off at 23:30 and wake up at 08:00 as fresh as daisies.
As I don’t set of to work until 09:05 I still have plenty o’ time for breakfast and showering …….. oh, and dressing as well (that’s always a good idea)!
It’s all about the magic.
