What Video Game Character Are You? I am an Asteroid.I am an Asteroid.

I am a drifter. I go where life leads, which makes me usually a very calm and content sort of person. That or thoroughly apathetic. Usually I keep on doing whatever I’m doing, and it takes something special to make me change my mind.

Google Moon!

without comments

Check out Google Moon!

“In honor of the first manned Moon landing, which took place on July 20, 1969, we’ve added some NASA imagery to the Google Maps interface to help you pay your own visit to our celestial neighbor. Happy lunar surfing.”

…now try zooming right in to see the moon’s surface in maximum detail. It’s true! The moon is really made of cheese!

Good Luck Belle!

with 2 comments

I’m off to London with a few people this afternoon to go and see my friend Belle sing at The Buzzard (previously the Purple Turtle) in Camden.

So Good Luck Belle! I know she’s really nervous, but it’s going to be great!

Playing with a VeiwSonic airpanel cool..

http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/UK/Products/wireless_displays.htm

good for surfing not too good for playing games in my armchair in the house but then that’s not what it’s for.

It has good handwriting recognition or an on screen keyboard like the tablet PCs. and also like tables you can plug a keybaord & mouse in or dock the thing :)

It is a pure RDP terminal though so no ssh, telnet or anything else for that matter :(

and sadly it is windows based. However I have just written this entry long hand and found it quite easy with a minimum of editing.

ST166LX revisited

with one comment

Hey! I didn’t set a password, nobody around me set a password so what are they talking about?

David O’Rouke of Sumo Technologies seems to feel that if a password is set on a terminal and I don’t know what that password is, he can charge me for resetting the password!

Dream on dude!

Not having a factory reset strikes me as a major flaw on one of these devices anyway.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Caller ID for FREE!

without comments

Ok, this got me a little bit too excited, but you can now get Caller ID for FREE from BT under the guise of “BT Privacy for Home“. It works – finally, BT join the 1990′s and give Caller ID for nothing!

War of the Worlds and a Photo

with one comment

Huddersfield from Castle Hill

I went to see War of the Worlds with Eleanor last night courtesy of the “Orange Wednesdays” offer. It was OK, although it did have crazy-scientologist Tom Cruise in it, which was a bit of a detraction for me.

Went up to Castle Hill after the film and took this nice photo from the top looking over Huddersfield. It came out quite well except for the little bit of camera shake caused by the wind buffeting the camera around. You can see it if you load the original size image in flickr (be warned – that image is big).
