How deep is the snow up there?

My mum always exaggerates the weather situation…

How deep is it really?

Edinburgh Photos

without comments

Well, I finally got around to posting my Edinburgh Photos. I had a very pleasant weekend, shot some pool, drank wine, played some cranium (Boobs, Fire… LARA CROFT!).

Snow Day!

with one comment

Ok, so I feel like a bit of a slacker, but my car slithered down the road from my parents house today so I decided to turn back and work from home at least for this moment. If it clears a little I’ll head in, but the road is quite slippery at the moment, and I know that it only gets worse over the top to Sheffield. Besides, there’s plenty I can get on with from here anyway.

My meme

without comments

In reference to this meme, here’s my input;

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

mine is

‘I told you i went there,’ said Gatsby

From the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, middle of chapter 7

Here goes…

‘Do you have a manager with a “shoot-the-messenger” approach?”

The book is Planning for Survivable Networks by Anlee A. Hines. Page 123 is roughly in the middle of Chapter 6 – “The Best-Laid Plans”.

Change of plans

without comments

Just now I was all psyched up to finish work early and go catch at train to the airport. I go to printout my flight details, and there it is in black n white. “25th Feb”. Could have sworn I asked for a flight booking on the 18th.

So I won’t be back in England till next week. I will have to ring my brazilian lady friend and cancel our plans. I will have to email Tom and Mallinson and Peter and cancel the Saturday night pub plan. And I will have to go get drunk in Zurich instead.

Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Day 2

without comments

Today I have fetched in some wonderful courgette and mint soup Kelly made, however it has an appearance of green slurry unfortunately. I zapped it in the microwave for 3 minutes,a nd it resembled slurry even moreso. Quite amazing. Needless to say its no longer edible.

I’d like to post an inline picture of my bowl of slurry, but im not sure how. Maybe i’ll ask Beezly this afternoon.

This morning I have mainly been replying to morons on eBay asking stupid questions about my laptop:

Things like…”how much is it?” and so on…..

At lunchtime today I am going to the highstreet to get prices for a new coat-hook-rail thing (that you hang coats on).

My First Blog

with 3 comments

Today I uploaded a nice picture, but beta.beezly.org.uk said my head was too large.

So I swapped it for Johnny5.

Today I have tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches, and a cherry yogurt. I look forward to lunchtimes.

I also have some courgette and mint soup.

I upgraded drupal, the web management engine I use and as a result I’m now able to use a shiny new theme. Huzzah!
